My City My Heritage
As part of INTACH’s National outreach programmes for schools across India, its Heritage Education and Communication Service (HECS) is conducting an essay (and painting) competition for students of classes 6-9. The students will document the heritage of their city which could be about a monument or building, place of worship, any vernacular architecture, flora, fauna, biodiversity park, festival, art and craft, custom and tradition, a living legend, etc. supported by a painting, photograph or a sketch. The timeline of project is from October 2016 to March 2017. They can write their essay in English, Hindi or any major local language of India. The national winners will get a chance to visit Delhi for an educational excursion. 70 chapters have already started with the preparations with the all the material being sent to them which includes posters and a grant of Rs.15000. Posters have been sent to all the heritage clubs too that are a part of INTACH.
